Martin Skrtel battles ex-Liverpool team-mate Dirk Kuyt in last season’s Europa League
Swansea City are considering a move for former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel, according to reports in Turkey.
The Slovakia international has been linked with a return to the Premier League, despite only joining Fenerbahce last summer.
Skrtel, 32, spent eight years at Liverpool before leaving Anfield to join the Turkish giants, but Swansea are ready to offer him a Premier League return.
According to Fotomac, the Swans want to use the money generated from the sale of striker Bafetimbi Gomis to fund a deal for the central defender.
Given Fenerbahce’s financial problems, the Welsh club are confident of persuading Srktel to return to England in time for next season.
The former Liverpool star made 47 appearances last term and has a contract with the Turkish giants until 2019.
